Russia Expanding Global Ties, Strengthening ‘Privileged Strategic Partnership’ with India: Lavrov

The Russian government continues to bolster its diplomatic ties with worldwide powers, especially with India where Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov declared their partnership status as “privileged strategic” during his Monday statement.

Lavrov spoke in Moscow about how Russia develops its bilateral relations with China alongside India and Iran along with North Korea and CIS member states based on Russian state news agency TASS reports.

Lavrov stated that the global order evolves toward a fairer balancing system of multiple powers including China and India and all members of BRICS along with SCO.

The Russian diplomatic dialogue operates actively and productively with SCO member states and BRICS countries and fellow-minded countries. The Group of Friends in Defence of the UN Charter conducts regular meetings through deputy foreign ministers and national coordinators maintained at New York locations.

Gradually Russia and North Korea have been developing stronger ties alongside Iran and at the same time Russia has intensified relationships with CIS members through Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

During the 76th Republic Day celebration President Vladimir Putin of Russia expressed well-wishing sentiments to both President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India. In his message to India Putin celebrated its seventy-five years of advancement while recommitting Russia to its persistent and solid strategic bond with the nation.

At the Alexander Gorchakov PDF board of trustees meeting, Lavrov asserted, ” We prioritize strengthening ties with the majority of global states. Our complete alliance with China is at an exceptional class of mutual trust. Also, we appreciate an extremely elite strategic cooperation with India.

Russia maintains a specific and advantageous strategic partnership with India. Through our combined work, we will both strengthen productive ties in all areas and work together effectively in worldwide matters. The fundamental interests of our friendly nations serve to build a fair multipolar world order while simultaneously supporting the efforts towards its establishment”, Putin declared.

The regular multiple meetings yearly prove the deep alliance between Putin and Modi.

Yury Ushakov from the Kremlin disclosed that Putin received an invitation from Modi in December 2024 to visit India in early 2025.

Narendra Modi the Prime Minister of India participated in two Russian events during 2024 by visiting in July to pursue agreements based on the 2000 Strategic Partnership Declaration and appearing at the October 16th BRICS gathering in Kazan.
